Hi there, I’m Aimee

imageThanks for stopping by and if anything here resonates with you, let me know with a like, a comment and/or a follow.  I love hearing from you!  My blog is about everyday happenings.  It’s a light easy read with a bit of humor.

I’m trying very hard to slow down and be more thoughtful about my life, by that I mean living a more sustainable life style, and appreciating what is right in front of me right now. I’m also in the process of removing negativity, whether that means people, places or things doesn’t matter, just the process of being selective with what I allow in my life.

I’m a simple woman trying to live a simple life.  I’m re-learning that life is about the ride rather than the destination.  I was missing too much of life by having my main focus on the end goal. I’m a wife, a mom and a gramma.  My granddaughter calls me Nene and I love that! She’s the only grandchild so far and I’m having so much fun with her even though we are 600 miles apart. I live in Michigan and my kids live in Tennessee.

I hope that you enjoy some of the things I write about. You just never know what could turn up on this blog but I hope you like it.

    1. Hi there! That’s so sweet and thank you for thinking of me. Everything is outstanding and a lot has been happening. I just got home today from a 2 week stay in TN with my kids and grand daughter. Things should start to slow down a bit now. I’ve got a lot to share and reading to catch up on 😊 I’m so glad you reached out and hope you’re doing well also. Would you send me your email again please? I’d love to chat more with you. Mine is: Aimee.jakey@yahoo.com

    1. Thanks and welcome Minaxi. So glad you are here and I look forward to your input as my blog grows. I’m glad you’re enjoying it, that is a great compliment to hear or read. I’ll be heading over to your blog shortly and we can be blog friends (that sounds kinda weird but I mean it with the best intentions).

      1. Haha I know 😀 I have used it a couple of times and now I mostly use “connect with each other in the world of blogs” 😛 But that also sometimes get too repetitive and I end up using bloggie friends sometimes 😀 Glad that we could be blog friends 🙂

  2. My first thought was that you look to young to be a Grandma. But perhaps it has nothing to do with age, rather whether the forces that be see you as qualified with a limitless capacity for love, compassion and joy. Love your writing and I’m looking to spend more time on your page. I knew I would like it as soon as I read “About”.

  3. Hello Gramma! I found you via the Commenting Bootcamp too, I left you a comment saying I couldn’t find your blogsite, but eventually I found it, so ignore my stupid remark!
You sound like a fun person, and someone who enjoys life, I cant figure out where in the world you are, though, I’m guessing over the pond in USA? I’m in that tiny land called England, have you ever been?
I’m enjoying blogging, it consumes such a lot of my time but I love it. I’m a gramma too, less than four years ago I had no grandchildren, now I have four, two boys and two girls who I love dearly. I’m looking forward to following your adventures.

    1. GeorgieMoon I’m so glad you found me! Yes, I’m over the pond in the USA…Michigan more precisely. I haven’t been to England although my sister has many times and tells me lots of nice stories about it. Isn’t being a grandparent the best?! I love it and I hope you come back here soon.

    2. All of a sudden I am finding grand-bloggers. How delightful! When I look at Georgiemoom, I cannot help but think of Georgy Girl, differnt spelling, of course. I am an Anglophile, living in Florida. Have had seven trips, three summer at Cambridge U. Thanks to the grandparents of the world who love and hugg and squeeze life.

  4. Our lives take many turns and sometimes where we end up is where we should have started in the first place. I found blogging to be my way of taking what I’ve always been passionate about and putting it down so I could understand it thoroughly. The fact that so many other people find it readable is a bonus! Enjoy the time spent with your family and take it all in…

  5. Dear Gramma: You came to me by way of the Bootcamp. Let me tell you a story. It’s so personal, but so perfect: for Bootcamp, and for finding you. My first granddaughter just had her 30th birthday! Imagine that? 30! So you can see why I might want to take a look at your site. Last week my best friend and mentor lost a grandson, an aneurysm. The young man was 29. Imagine the loss and grief. My only grandson is 25. I wanted to hug him so much. So this is my story. Your picture is beautiful; I have them also. We cannot take any of these lives for granted. Love and hug and squeeze. Keep in touch.

    1. James I’m so glad you found me and thank you for sharing that personal note! I can not imagine my little angel baby being 30! I want nothing more than for her to stay 2 and cute and sassy and sweet!! I’m very sorry for your friends loss, that’s has to be very difficult for him. Life is indeed quite short and we need more love and hugs (they’re my favorite) in this world. Come back soon.
